United States: A new government-funded research shows that a high incidence of colon cancer, especially among young people in America, could precipitated by consumption of some cooking oils.

The current study indicates that the high intake of seed oils, which include sunflower, canola, corn, and grapeseed could be associated with inflammation; however, proven hard data has been scarce.
This research involved an analysis of the tumors of more than 80 colon cancer patients; it established that seed oils boost the odds of developing this quickly spreading disease, irishstar.com reported.
According to the analysis, these tumors contained greater levels of bioactive lipids, tiny fatty compounds that are formed by the body to metabolize seed oils.

Published in the leading medical journal Gut, the research analyzed 81 samples of tumors taken from persons between the ages of 30 and 85.
Notably, it was noted that these samples had higher levels of lipids from seed oils compared to other healthier fats in their malignant growths.
Because these lipids are regarded as pro-inflammatory agents, their presence promotes the growth of cancers, and at the same time, they interfere with the body’s capability to fight cancerous cells.
The scientists involved in the study advise people to stop using seed oils and start using omega-3 fatty acid-rich oils like olive and avocado oil. CEO-designate for the Department of Health and Human Services, appointed by Trump, President-Elect Robert F Kennedy Jr, has been quoted as saying that Americans are being ‘unknowingly poisoned’ by seed oils, irishstar.com reported.
It is important to emphasize that leading American cancer and heart disease organizations have stated there is no scientific data that indicates moderate use of seed oils in the diet raises the cancer rate.
There is an increasing campaign against such oils within the community of advocates of healthy living, but many specialists continue to deny such statements.
